Corn Whiskey, Six Shooters and Drive By Truckers...

Cyndi and I headed into DC for some shit kickin' rock-n-roll courtesy of Drive By Truckers . These guys put it out with tons of guitar. 3 front men, each with his own style, served up 2+ hours non-stop at the 9:30 Club. Good stuff.
We decided to stay in D.C. for the night and hit Chinatown for some chow before the show. Funny thing was, we weren't in the mood for Chinese, so we ended up in RFD . 3 of my favorites on tap, Anchor Steam, Dogfish Head and Sierra Nevada. I'll have one of each, please. It was a beautiful night in the city.

This Ain't France...

But it's just as beautiful to me.

Having been off the bike for a month or so, I've turned into a grumpy old coot, bitching and moaning about everything under the sun. I get like that when I'm out of the saddle for any length of time. So my first ride in many days was just what the doctor ordered. A nice jaunt through the rolling hills and farms of Anne Arundel County. Bay Country. The Tour de France has also infiltrated my life as it does every July and I find myself playing it out on these roads. My wife asks me when I'm going to get a haircut and, "What's up with the sideburns"? I reply, "I'm Eddy Merckx". She knows I'm a freak.

I ride past the black barn often...

And the white barn is just across the field...

Just a couple pedal strokes from the bay...

.
I'm glad it ain't France. Go Floyd, Go!
